Hi everyone,
Okay so here is the update/story:
Katherine was born on June 1st at 10:40 am. She was 6lbs 11oz and 21 inches long. She has blonde hair like me :) When she was born she wasn't breathing really well so they took her away to help her out. She was then put into what they call at this small butt hospital a Special Care Nursery. Where the people's qualifications amount to NOTHING. She was on O2 for a day and then a Doctor finally saw her. He inserted a NG Tube and took air off of her belly this slowed her rate of breathing down A LOT! She was breathing like 150 x a min. She was then started on IV's because she had not eatten. Her rate was still high a day later but that evening they let me try to breastfeed she did well as far as latching on and things but 20 mins after eatting she threw up. So they decided to put an OG tube into her belly and feed her that way. She is a busy little lady with her hands and the night nurse was lazy so Kat pulled the OG tube out after about 20 hours (maybe a little less) They didn't let me see her last night because like I said the nurse is lazy. So they decided to bottle feed her...the nurse said she didn't take the bottle well. (I wouldn't have either...cause the nurse was a BEEEEEEEEEEEEP) So it has been 12 hours I haven't seen her she is still under Bili-lights for her jaundice but I know they are rechecking that this morning. So my stress is through the roof and I want to rip someones head off here but I am trying to remain calm. If you all could pray that she is getting good care and that she keeps improving it would help a lot. Her breathing is improving they say when she is calm she is almost normal it is just fast when she is worked up....DUH! Maybe it would be fine if I was allowed to hold her!
Will update more as we know more.
Love,
Jenna and Jason
